Top 5 essential things you need to include in your 'About us' section on your website

Does anyone ever read the 'About us' section?

The short answer is YES!

If you look into your website analytics, you can see what pages visitors are reading.

The home page is where most visits will start.

But they will usually go onto the 'About us' or the 'Meet the team' page.

They are trying to get to know you.

With so many visitors to the page, what should it say?

The 'About' page is your time to show off.

You need to make sure that you tell them why you are so good at what you do and how that could help them.

Here are few things that you should include on your 'About us' page.

1- Your story.

How did the business come about?

How have you grown and developed over the years?

Stories can sell without selling, and it will help build rapport with your customers if they know a bit about you and your background.

2- Your company ethos and values

Your company will have values and an ethos that embodies what you do. If you communicate this on your 'About us' page, your customers will get to know you better and move along the journey to work with you.

3- Your team

Showcase your team, and let the customers get to know each person individually. After all, they will probably be working with the team and not just the business founder. Personal information works well here, such as your team's hobbies and life outside of work. This will allow your whole team to be more relatable to your customers and build that ever so valuable rapport that is needed.

4-Your process

Show the journey that your customer will take when they work with you. You will answer many of their questions before they get in touch, and they will understand your products and services, so they will not need to be sold to when they do get in touch.

5- Your fame

Your about page is your time to show off! Have you won an award? Have you worked with a celeb? Have you been featured in the press?

Tell people here.

I know that we don't like to show off, but this section is quite literally about you, so brag about your successes and show the reader that you are great at what you do!

Don't be so British!

Use your About us page to tell people about you and your business; that is why it is called 'About us'!
